That Isn't Just a Serial Number? Part 2

That big, long number on the side of a tire probably looks meaningless, but each number is very specific. If the number in question were “P215/65R 15 95H,” for example, here is what the second section signifies:
· 65 – aspect ratio, which is the height compared to the width. In this example, the sidewall height is 65% of the width.
· R – radial construction, as opposed to “B” for bias-ply tires, which are used for some trucks
· 15 – rim diameter (in inches)
